Der europäische AI Act

What you need to know and how to tackle the legal challenges correctly

With the advent of artificial intelligence, more and more companies have begun to automate their workflows and are using tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot .

To ensure safe use under uniform regulations, the European Union passed the EU AI Act in 2024 – the legal basis for the socially compliant use of AI applications and functions.

In this way, innovation , efficiency and further development are promoted, as well as the responsible use of AI. We have summarized what this means for companies .

EU AI Act – the most important points at a glance

  • Copyright and data: AI systems must be trained with data from verified sources. Results generated by AI are not protected by copyright under EU law.
  • Data protection: Compliance with the GDPR is still essential. The AI Act strengthens transparency and limits the scope of autonomous action by AI.
  • Trade secrets: Generative AI poses risks for sensitive business information. Companies are required to protect their data against unauthorized access in accordance with strict security guidelines.
